OCTOBER SERVICE PROJECT

Office supplies( copy paper, new/used file folders, pens, pencils, toilet paper, paper towels and kleenex) are being collected for the benefit of the Volunteer Health Clinic.

Human Rights Celebration

Date: October 7, 2011

Time: 9:30 a.m.

Place: Hyde Park Christian Church - 610 East 45th St.  78751

Theme: Living Our Legacy - Driving the Movement

NEW Jail Ministry Service Times:  The Celebrations at the Travis County Correctional complex are now being held on the Third Monday.  The Human Rights Celebration will be held on October 17 and the World Community Day Celebration will be on November 21, 2011.  Services are at 2:00, but team members need to be there at 1:30.

For over 15 years, a team of women has presented each of our Celebration services in the chapel of the Del Valle Correctional Facility.  The congregation of about 40 women is truly uplifted by the experience and the small size gives us the opportunity to meet convey Christ's love to these women during small group discussions.  If you would like to participate, please contact Anne Ader 451-2839 or Sue Sidney, 259-8623.  It takes about a month to register new participants with the County, so if you are interested in this ministry, call right away so you can participate in November.  You WILL be blessed.

The Volunteer Healthcare Clinic is the oldest, continuously operating free clinic in Austin, Texas. It is a unique place where volunteers and the community unite to provide vital medical services to uninsured children and adults with limited resources. The Clinic's programs are patient-centered, volunteer-driven, and focused on providing the most vulnerable with high quality healthcare and prevention education
